To achieve the excellent tracking and pointing performance ASA Direct Drive systems are equipped with high resolution up to 28bit (0.004 arcsec) encoders on each axis.
After modelling the pointing with the ASA software package, the positioning error is usually better than 5 arcsec RMS, the tracking performance is in the range of +/- 0.25 arcsec up to 10min (only guaranteed with ASA telescopes).
The ASA DDM500 is the entry into all kinds of research work, including astronomical observation and satellite tracking.

ASA Direct Drive Technology
NO gears NO belts. Precise closed loop control.
professional astronomy direct drive technology has been used for some
years now. We developed our own direct drive controller and motor
system. No gears or belts are needed, there is no transmission no
periodic error or backlash.
Direct drive means
- Fast acceleration - necessary for satellite tracking

- longer life expectancies because there is no wear & tear (since no moving parts)
- low to no-sound operation
- low power consumption
The power is not wasted in friction (from the belt, chain, etc., and especially, gearboxes.)
a simpler device, a direct-drive mechanism has fewer parts which could
vibrate, and the overall noise emission of the system is usually lower.
Having fewer moving parts also means having fewer parts prone to failure.
Faster and precise positioning:
High torque and low inertia allows faster positioning with permanent magnet synchronous servo drives.
Mechanical backlash, hysteresis and elasticity is removed by avoiding the use of gearboxes

The dispatch takes place by a forwarding agency. The shipping
