TS Optics Riccardi 2.5" Wynne Newtonian coma corrector with M68x1 connection
For the correction of coma distortion of Newtonian telescopes Massimo Riccardi has designed this outstanding 3-element coma corrector. The corrector provides 66-71 mm backfocus for all customary CCD and DSLR cameras and also Off Axis Guider, filter wheels etc. This makes the 2.5" Wynne corrector an interesting alternative to the ASA Wynne corrector, which offers less backfocus. On top of that, the corrector provides better illumination, achieved by its short design of only 100mm.
Adaptation to the focuser
The TS 2.5" Wynne corrector has a M68x1 Zeiss-Level thread on its top. This thread permits the trouble-free screw-connection to many focusers, for example the Moonlite 2.5" or Starlight Feather Touch. The focusers only requires a camera-sided M68x1 female thread. This specific thread is very common amongst high-quality focusers.
The 2.5" Wynne corrector has a camera-sided M68x1 female thread. This allows for a convenient attachment of M68 accessories. Most cameras with large sensors offer a M68x1 connection or can at least be adapted to this thread.
The backfocus is calculated from the base of the M68x1 thread:
Focal length 600mm: Backfocus 66mm
Focal length 800mm: Backfocus 68mm
Focal length 1000mm:- Backfocus 69.5mm
Focal length 1200mm: Backfocus 69.75mm
Focal length 1500mm: Backfocus 70.5mm
Focal length 1800mm: Backfocus 71mm
