This Adaption is be proven in many areas of the astronomy. The Extension Tube has to be screwed into the Filterthread from a 2" eyepiece or a 2" adaption and therefore will extend the barrel for 20 mm.

On the telescope side you are able to adapt a Filterthread or even a further Extension Tube. So you are able to extend the barrel user defined without the fitting accurancy like using barrels which are wobbling.
